Weekend Blues...

So I didn't do too well this weekend. I must have still been in vacation mode cause I just ate anything I wanted. I didn't really gain any weight though, so I suppose that's good. We did go to the store last night and our basket was similar to Steph's - 75% was veggies and fruit. I actually commented about it to Aaron. How funny is that? Anyway, I'm not going to rehash the weekend, but I'm doing better today.

Today so far...
Breakfast: Strawberries
Lunch: Salad with grilled chicken and french fries (the fries were on the salad, I guess that doesn't really make a difference, I still had them)
Snack: PB mnm's - I couldn't resist. Hopefully it won't give you the craving Steph.
I'm not sure what I'm doing for dinner yet. Maybe left over beef roast from the weekend.

I'm going to start a lemon cleanse tomorrow, which will last for 3 days. It's the same cleanse that I've done before and it usually does well to clean everything out of my system. It should be good to jump start the healthy thing again. I'm also going to try and work in some exercise this week. Hopefully Aaron and I will start the running thing this week. I gotta get some shoes.

I'm glad you enjoyed the guac. I was going to make it this weekend as well, but I couldn't find good avocados. They must not be in season anymore.

Guess that's it... for now.

Update

So this might be a little bit opposite of the purpose of the blog, but I wanted to share that I have gained one pound since the start of the pregnancy. I am so happy about this as I was certain I would at least double in size in the first few months.

But I have been really trying to be conscious about eating only when I'm actually hungry, and balancing out the not so good foods with healthier add-ins, like lots of fruit and veggies. It also helps that so many yummy things are in season right now.

We did a similar thing yesterday that Steph did and loaded up with lots of fruit and veggies from a farmer's market. So I made a fruit salad and we had green beans for dinner last night. And tonight we're probably having the corn on the cob and we've all been snacking on fruit here and there.

So that's the good news. The bad news is that try as I might to fight it, Taco Bell is the one thing that keeps calling me back to its cheesy goodness. For some reason, it just tastes so good. Darn baby. But like I said, I'm trying not to overeat and we're really working on the exercise as much as possible. So hopefully I'll keep the weight gain down to a minimum. Though I must say it is certainly a strange feeling to be happy that my clothes are no longer fitting. Apart from the fact that I get to buy new clothes, it makes all of this feel so much more real.

So good luck girls, and keep the updates coming! Love you!

Monday, Monday...

Hey ladeis!
The weekend was really good. Shawn and I have both started logging EVERYTHING we eat onto that new website and it's really been helping us keep track of calories, fat, carbs, cholesterol and sodium. It's very helpful. I actually lost 2 lbs from Thursday, which is still up 2lbs from my lowest, but I feel really good about it. We went grocery shopping and 75% of our basket was fruits and veggies and chicken. Nothing processed. We also went to Fadler's - a bulk market - and got a TON of deli sliced turkey for 1.99 per lb. If you guys buy deli turkey at all, you'll know that the cheapest you can find it is stores is typically 2.75 per lb. We have turkey sandwiches almost everyday for lunch, so this will be great to have in the freezer.

Also, I got a whole pineapple and cut it up into pieces for snacks - it is SO yummy. And, Ang, I made your guac, too. I LOVED it, but I put too much cilantro in it, so that was a little overwhelming. We ate it all, though! :-)

Love you girls - hope to hear from you soon!!!

Hey ladies

By the way, I found a new tool to help us...
www.sparkpeople.com

I've signed up and I think it will be really motivational. I hope. :-)

Back to real life...

So, I didn't think I did too bad on vacation, but the scales said otherwise. I was up 5 lbs from my lowest. It's amazing what a week can do. Honestly, i think it was my last two days in Portland that did me in. Regardless, I'm back on track today...

So far today...
Breakfast: piece of toast, iced latte and a handful of frosted cheerios (all that was left in the box)
Lunch: subway turkey sub
Not sure what we are doing for dinner, but it will probably be something out cause we have nothing at home, unless we go grocery shopping. I hoping to also get some good exercise in. Aaron and I are going to start the running sometime over the weekend. I'm hoping to really get into that. We'll see how it affects my back.

Anyway... vacation was great, but now it is back to the real world. I'm hoping to drop back down to my lowest by Monday or sooner. I'll have to go to the store and stock up on the fruits and veggies again.

Steph... you don't look horrible. I think you are sooo beautiful. I must say I'm quite envious of Kim, cause she gets to eat without always being conscious of gaining weight.
Anyway... keep me posted on your progress.

6-22-07

Wow, so I must say that looking at the pictures that everyone took in Seattle makes me think of 3 things:
1) How much fun we had!
2) How much I miss everyone :-(
3) How terrible I look, and how much weight I have gained.

Talk about some motivation. Makes me want to starve myself.
So, before I saw Ang's pics, I had two pieces of toast with PB and I just had a small donut. We're supposed to have pizza for lunch today at the meeting, but I'll probably pass on that. We got some fresh veggies from the farmer's market last night, so I'm sure we'll make something with that for dinner.

Love you guys.

Back from Vacation

So I guess we didn't do too badly while we were gone. The day I travelled home was crap, though. BK sandwich for breakfast (no hashbrowns, just the sandwich), McDonald's for lunch, and chinese for dinner. Like I said. Horrible.

Yesterday -
Breakfast: 2 cups hot cocoa
Lunch: Turkey and cheese sandwich with a pickle and fruit snacks
Dinner: Homemade mac & cheese - very little cheese. Actually, wasn't very good.

Today-
Breakfast: Maple and Brown sugar oatmeal
Snack: peanut butter and crackers
Lunch: Philly Roll (sushi) and a chocolate chip cookie

Don't know what's for dinner. As of right now, nothing. I'm still very stuffed from lunch. Shawn is fasting today, so I don't think I'll have to make anything for him, which makes life easier. :-)

Ang, I hope you guys had a good time in Portland and a great trip home!
Kimmie! Thanks for everything while we were out there - so much fun!
I miss you both!!!

Finally over the hump...

Well today marks a milestone in my weight loss trek. I've finally made it to 11 pounds lost. I've been working on that pound for almost a month now and it feels good to finally get over that hump. The problem is I'm going on vacation this week, but I'm determined to stay on track.

Anyway...
Monday:
Breakfast: strawberries
Lunch: 1/2 of a turkey sub, the crumbs at the bottom of the chip bag, and 2 mint milano cookies
Dinner: the other 1/2 of the turkey sub
Exercise: long walk with Aaron - approx. 3 miles in 40 mins. Pretty good pace.

Today so far...
Breakfast: strawberries and a piece of cinnamon toast
Lunch: Swiss chicken spinach salad and 1/2 of a snicker doodle
Apparently we are having steak for dinner and I'm sure some type of veggie. Aaron informed me we are grilling up the steak that has been in the freezer for a couple of weeks. I'm OK with that of course.
Exercise - we tried to get up this morning, but with the late night, we decided to try and work it in later. We'll see how it goes. I have a lot to get ready for the trip tomorrow.

Monday, June 11, 2007

The weekend...

Friday night Aaron ended up getting off work late, so I snacked on strawberries and chips & guacamole and then had 3 pieces of corn on the cob when he got home.

Saturday:
Breakfast/lunch: strawberries & chips & guacamole
Dinner: subway turkey sub
Snack: couple bites of ice cream

Sunday:
Breakfast: Strawberries
Snack: Iced latte with skim milk
Lunch: 1.5 soft tacos, nachos, chips & salsa.
Snack: pretzels w/ cheese ball
Late snack: couple of bites of Rita's Italian ice.
Exercise: walked to Rita's - approx 30-40min each way.

Overall the weekend wasn't bad with the food, but I didn't get the exercise in that I wanted. Although I cleaned all day on Saturday and that always gets my heart going. I started at about 11am and didn't finish up till 5ish. I was pretty tired, and then we went shopping.

Anyway... How was your weekend?

Friday, June 8, 2007

Friday, at last.

Today has not been the best day, but I am not ashamed to admit it. :-)

Breakfast:
Two slices of toast with honey

Snack:
Banana, hot cocoa

Lunch:
Small portion of leftover mac & cheese

Snack:
Fruit snacks

Dinner: Who knows, but I'm willing to bet we'll eat out or we'll make homemade pizza.

Hope you guys have a great weekend! Call if you get a chance!

Pushing on...

Wednesday night I ended up going to my sister's for dinner and having corn on the cob and watermelon for dinner and topped it off with strawberry shortcake for desert. Not too shabby.

Thursday:
Breakfast: strawberries, skim iced latte
Lunch: Lettuce, tomato and avocado wrapped in a slice of turkey, and some carrots
Snack: 1 pizza hut bread stick and some peanut M&M's and Reece's pieces. I had a moment of weakness.
Dinner: salad and a whole wheat roll
I didn't get a chance to exercise or rather didn't take the time to. I'm still holding steady at 9 lbs down though.

Today so far...
Breakfast: strawberries
Snack: chips and guacamole
Lunch will be the rest of my salad from dinner last night.
I'm not sure what we are doing for dinner, but it will most like involve some sort of meat on the grill and corn on the cob. Maybe some other veggies thrown in there as well.

i hope today is going better for you than yesterday. Keep me posted.

Thursday, June 7, 2007

Thursday

So last night we did go biking and it was against the wind. We only went for about 25 min, but it was tough.
Dinner last night:
3 tacos...pretty small, though.

Breakfast:
Two slices of toast with PB
Hot cocoa

Snack:
Banana

Lunch:
Turkey sandwich
Fruit snacks

Dinner:
Will either be turkey spaghetti, stir fry or homemade pizza.

I'm really struggling today. I don't feel well - my allergies are bad. And I am PMSing. Totally.
I don't want to do anything but sleep and eat macaroni and cheese. Oh. Maybe we'll have that for supper.

Wednesday, June 6, 2007

Update

I ate fruit snacks. 210 calories. I was so hungry! Actually, I still am. What's the deal?

Update...

Today:
Lunch ended up being a 6" turkey sub on whole wheat (no cheese) from subway. I didn't get a chance to eat the strawberries, so I'll save those for tomorrow. Since I had a sandwich for lunch, I think I'll stop at salad works on the way home for dinner. They have yummy salads.

OK... guess that's it. Thanks for posting all that info about your night tonight. I like to be informed as to what is going on in your life. It helps me to feel connected. Also, thanks for being diligent about posting, it keeps me encouraged and not discouraged.

Can't way to see you in 8 days!

Wednesday

Last night I ended up having salmon, rice and veggies for dinner (about 450 calories for the whole meal). But since we ate so late, I ended up snacking on 2 small packs of fruit snacks and a banana.

Today-
Breakfast: Two slices of toast with honey, hot cocoa
Lunch: leftover turkey meatloaf (sm slice), 1 serving of tortilla chips, and a banana. I'm still a little hungry so it will be tough not to snack.
Dinner: I think we're having tacos for supper tonight, so that's not too bad as long as I don't eat too much.

And, we should be able to bike tonight. Shawn won't be working at night anymore, so that should help our routine a little. Although, I will have to put in a couple hours at work this evening, too. Maybe I'll see if I can go home, bike, make dinner and head back to work. I'll see if Shawn can finish the carpet for me, or I can just do another small section tonight.

So, you didn't need to know all that, but I told you anyway! :-) Have a fabulous day!
Oh - and Ang, i am so happy that you found some extra motivation! I hope you guys can stick to it!!!

Yesterday was better...

So I'm not going to go into the weekend. I really kinda just let myself eat whatever and honestly I don't remember much of what I ate, but yesterday was better. I was 4 pounds up from my lowest yesterday morning, but by this morning I was back down to only 1 pound up. I'm hoping to surpass my lowest by the end of the week. Aaron and I both have renewed focus and are shooting for the all time goal. It's much easier when he is along side me.

Yesterday - Tuesday, 5/5:
Breakfast: 1/2 an apple
Lunch: salad, carrots and a few cashews
Snack: granola bar
Dinner: turkey sub from subway (whole wheat bread, no cheese)
Exercise: 20 min walk by myself and a 40 minute walk when Aaron got home

Today so far...
Exercise: 45 min walk with Aaron this morning - we are determined!
Breakfast: one egg and 1.5 pieces of turkey bacon
The plan...
Snack: strawberries
Lunch: salad & probably some carrots and cashews
Dinner: veggie sandwich on multi-grain bread
I may end up walking or doing some for of exercise after work with my sister, but I'm not sure. It is a beautiful day today, so I may do it alone if she can't make it. It's suppose to stay in the low 70s today. What a nice break from the hot and muggy!

Anyway... I'm doing better and I'm focused. It helps that Aaron is supporting me again. Not that he wasn't before, but he wasn't very motivated. Hopefully it lasts.

Tuesday, June 5, 2007

Tuesday

Ok, so we didn't do the salmon with veggies last night, but I did make a yummy turkey meatloaf. It's actually really good and not bad for you at all.
So...
Friday night:
1.5 servings of turkey meatloaf (ground turkey, barbeque sauce, onion, egg and crackers with seasoning)
Lots of green grapes

Dessert - Lowfat frozen yogurt from Braums
But we did a LONG bike ride last night, too.

Today:
Breakfast - bowl of raisin nut bran
Lunch - tortilla chips, carrots and turkey sandwich.
Dinner - Tonight we're planning on the salmon dinner. :-)

Monday, June 4, 2007

The weekend...

It wasn't good at all as far as eating goes, but here it is...
Friday night - we ended up going out for a really nice steak dinner...
6 oz filet
garden salad
3 stuffed mushrooms
baked potato (loaded)
potato soup (small cup)

It was loaded with calories, but it tasted so great!

Saturday -
Breakfast: 2 slices of whole wheat toast with honey
Lunch: Homemade chicken salad sandwich with cheese, LOTS of fruit (fresh pineapple, strawberries and apples) with fruit dip (not much, though).
Salad with tomatoes and cucumbers.

Dinner: Turkey sandwich (I was on a sandwich kick this weekend!)
More fruit - no fruit dip
A few tortilla chips and salsa

Snack: (LATE MOVIE!)
A few handfuls of popcorn, and half a box of milk duds and a shared Cherry Coke.

Sunday -
Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with cheese, toast, strawberries.

Lunch: Orange slush from Sonic, banana

Dinner: Chicken fried rice and 3 cheese wontons.

Monday (so far)

Breakfast: Coffee and hot cocoa, banana

Lunch: Potato chips, carrots, turkey sandwich

Dinner: I think we're doing something like salmon with rice and veggies tonight...

Hope your weekend was fantastic! :-)

Friday, June 1, 2007

Good days...

Last night for dinner we went to El Rodeo and I had my usual - a cheese enchillada and a soft beef taco. I also had some beans, chips & salsa, and guacamole and we shared a fried ice cream for dessert. All and all not a great dinner, but after not eating much all day, I was starving. I didn't feel overly full by the end.

Today so far...
No breakfast
Lunch: veggie sandwich on multi-grain bread, a few chips and an iced latte.
I'm snacking on a few peanut mnms right now cause I'm hungry and they looked too good.
Dinner I'm not sure about, but I've been really into wings lately, so I'm thinking about that with maybe a salad or something healthy.

Anyway... I'm doing better, but the exercise thing may have to wait till next week. I'm still feeling kinda crappy and we are going away this weekend, so i'm going to start it up again on Tuesday.

Thursday, May 31, 2007

Starting Today...

Thanks for the encouragement yesterday, Steph. It has really inspired me to keeping going and not give in. Like I said in my email, I'm moving on the stage 2 of South Beach with some modifications. I'm incorporating some of the principles from fit for life - only fruit till lunch and trying not to mix carbs and protein in the same meal. I'm also going to cut back on the dairy intake.

I'm not going to rehash the not-so-great memorial day weekend. Let's just move forward from this point.

Today so far... (9 lbs down from my highest point)
Breakfast: 1/2 of an apple
Lunch: half of a veggie sandwich made on whole grain bread, a few potato chips (oops), and an iced latte made with skim (no sugar)
I'm not sure what I'm doing for dinner yet. It will probably be out somewhere, so hopefully I'll have some healthy choices. I'll keep you posted on that.
I probably won't get the exercise in today as well. Although I did get a nice long walk in yesterday. I'm going to try and start the exercise regimen tomorrow - everyday is the goal. Although if I feel like I do today, it will probably get pushed off till Saturday.

Anyway... that's the latest. I'll keep you posted.

2 Days in a row!

So, last night I ended up having some leftover salad from Cheddars, a few chips with some guacamole, and a long island iced tea.

Today, I had a banana and hot cocoa for breakfast.
I had peanut butter crackers for a snack.
I am having a turkey sandwich with carrots and tortilla chips for lunch.
Not sure about dinner...possibly lasagna with salad and garlic bread. We're having Tonderai and his mom (from Zimbabwe via England) for dinner. And possibly Danie and Blessing. So I don't know what I am making yet.

Ang, I hope you're feeling better! Keep blogging! Love you!

Wednesday, May 30, 2007

No promises

I will try to keep up on this...it's just that I'm not able to blog at work as much as I used to and I don't ever have time at home, so...I'll do my best.

Yesterday wasn't bad (I won't go into the weekend...that wasn't good at all - you know how family reunions can be.)

Breakfast:
Two slices of wheat toast with PB

Lunch:
Turkey Pot Pie soup (wasn't very good)

Snack:
Hot cocoa and some skittles
(Later) Piece of turkey and piece of cheese - to hold me until dinner :-)

Dinner:
1/2 Chicken Tender Salad from Cheddars and a diet coke.

Today so far...
Breakfast:
Bowl of Raisin Nut Bran

Lunch will be a Turkey sandwich with tomatoes and cheese, and carrots. I will probably have a hot cocoa today as well. Then dinner will probably be chicken tacos or baked chicken and baked potatoes with frozen mixed veggies.

Hope you guys are doing well. Love you!

Let's start afesh...

OK, so seriously girls - where you at? I hope you haven't given up on me or more importantly on yourself...

Anyway... I've had my ups and down this week, but I'm back on track again. I'm still at about 8-10 pounds lost; haven't made progress in that area as you can see why.

So yea... you all can post again any time. Any thoughts on the vote for April?

Almost the weekend

Ok, so I haven't been the most diligent at keeping up on this lately. Sorry about that. It's mainly because I haven't been that diligent with the eating well either. But I have to say that I have been improving with the exercise.

I've been doing yoga and Adam and I are taking walks almost every evening. And then, of course, there's the Wii. Although, I don't really think that counts.

Yesterday breakfast:  nonfat caramel macchiato, bagel and cream cheese

Snack:  fruit

Lunch:  Subway sub

Dinner:  sushi – a couple pieces of a California roll and a shrimp tempura roll

Today so far

Breakfast:  cereal, fruit, and nonfat caramel macchiato

I guess that's all I have for now. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I don't remember what happened...

The past week has been crazy. I know I haven't posted in a while, but I have been good. I am up to 6 lbs lost now. Yay! I had a weight goal and I met it so now I have set another small goal. I find that I am doing much better with taking baby steps rather than looking at the whole ton that I have to lose. We have been eating very healthy lately, and been exercising nearly everyday. I did the Oklahoma City Memorial 5K walk on Sunday morning - so as far as I am concerned, I burned more calories because I got up to do the stupid thing at 4:45 AM.
It was really cool and memorable and we had a great time.
Anyway - I know I didn't give a detailed report of my menu, but I hope you'll forgive me! :-) Love you girls!

The weekend

Good job on the South Beach Diet, Ang! I'll have to update our pounds lost very soon.

My weekend, as it was my birthday weekend, wasn't quite as good.

Friday night we had dinner at my favorite restaurant and I had a crab cake, some asparagus, lobster mac and cheese (one of the yummiest things in the world) and a teeny crème brulee.

Saturday morning we had breakfast out, but I did pretty well. Just a couple eggs a couple pieces of bacon, fruit and toast.

Skipped lunch because of the late breakfast.

For dinner, I had one piece of pizza and a spinach salad.

Exercise:  took a short walk and played outside.

Sunday morning we had breakfast at home:  eggs and bacon and toast and fruit again.

For lunch, we went to Red Robin. Adam and I split a burger and I had a couple fries and half a salad.

For dinner, I had two pieces of pizza.

Exercise consisted of playing our new Wii for a few hours and also taking a short walk.

Today so far I've had cereal, yogurt and a nonfat caramel frappuccino.

I'm hoping Adam will get the elliptical fixed soon so I can start using it again. In the meantime, though, I should be taking walks because the weather has been perfect for them.

Ok, so I'm up for voting again too. When should we do it?

Vote...

O yea... I guess its time for another vote. What do you guys think?

Success...

This week of South Beach proved to be just what the doctor ordered. I'm officially down 8 pounds from where I started, 5 of which was just this past week. I'm excited to finally see some success and the funny thing is I think I cheated almost everyday.

Friday, 4/27:
No breakfast
Snack: string cheese
Lunch: cheddar wurst (with out the bun) and a caramel iced latte
Snack: nuts
Dinner: Lettuce & onion wrapped in a slice of turkey breast, sugar-free jello cup. I think there were a few other things in there, but I don't recall everything.
Exercise: 35min elliptical

Saturday 4/28:
Breakfast: 2 eggs scramble with cheese, 2 slices of turkey bacon
Lunch: celery with pb, and something else I can't remember
Dinner: chicken and a salad, sugar free jello cup
Exercise: Ran laps with my niece at her Race for Education - and I was sore all weekend.

Sunday 4/29:
Breakfast: onion and cheese omelet and 2 pieces of turkey bacon
Took my niece to McDonald's and Chuck-e-Cheese: some french fries and part of a milkshake. Also had a few bites of cotton candy
Snack: hand full of nuts
Dinner: Steak and steamed veggies
No exercise

Today...
Breakfast: 3 big strawberries (I couldn't resist)
Lunch: Salad with left over steak, a piece of American cheese
Snack: nuts
Dinner: I think I'll have a turkey wrap or 2 (veggies wrapped up in a slice of turkey) and I'm sure a jello cup
I'm going to walk at my mom's - probably about 30-40minutes or so.

Anyway... like I said, I've cheated quite a bit. But I'm OK with that, as long as I continue to loose the weight. My goal is to change my eating habits so that I'm able to make it a lifestyle that I can live with while maintaining a healthy weight and well-being.

Thursday, April 26, 2007

This week...

Monday night:
Dinner: broccoli in cheese sauce
Exercise: 25min walk

Wednesday:
Breakfast: tomato, onion and cheese omelet

I didn't eat anything else all day... I never got hungry again.
No exercise today - I was very tired and had a bit of a headache (not that its an excuse or anything).

Today:
Breakfast: Iced caramel latte
Lunch: salad with left over grilled chicken, string cheese
Snack: mixed nuts
Not sure what I'm having for dinner - probably one of the South beach frozen meals I got the other day.
Exercise: 30min elliptical (went this morning)

OK, so i know I've deviated a bit from the South Beach, but I'm OK with that. I know that whenever I cheat a bit, it just will take me that much longer to get to my goal weight. I don't want this to be so controlling that I can't indulge every now and then.

Beginning again...

OK, so this past weekend (including Thursday) I don't think was that bad. I know I exercised everyday except for Sunday (Thurs 30min walk, Fri 45min walk, sat 30min walk). I don't think I ate too terribly bad, besides the Chinese on Sunday and a few cookies and cupcake here and there.

The problem is I'm not loosing any weight. So I've decided to join the Jen wagon and try the South Beach diet. I'm starting today and so far it has been pretty good. If I can get through the first two weeks, I think I'm golden. If you've read Jen's blog lately, you will have already seen that she has dwindled to a size 6 and Chris has lost at least 30 lbs. I've decided that it is time for me to take the plunge and really be hard on myself. Anyone want to join me? I found the book at Barns and Noble for $7 in the bargain section and I'm looking forward to seeing results soon. I'll keep you posted on that.

Today so far...
Breakfast: onion, tomato and cheese omelet
Lunch: salad left over steak from Saturday night
Dinner... I'm gonna have to go to the store, I'm not sure I have anything at home.

Anyway... so that's the deal. Let me know if you want to join me. Any encouragement we can be to each other is so helpful. Oh yea... Aaron is doing it with me. He's already lost 11 lbs since February though, so he is a bit ahead.

I think I can…I think I can

Whenever I forget to post, whatever I ate the day before instantly vanishes from my memory. That is what happened to Monday. Food? No idea. Exercise? I think we took a little walk around the neighborhood.

Yesterday, though, yesterday I would like to forget if I could. It was one of those high calorie days.

Breakfast:  eggs, bacon and a piece of toast

Lunch:  grilled cheese and fruit

Dinner:  Olive Garden – a LOT of salad, two breadsticks, few calamari, part of my chicken and pasta dinner

Oh, and there was part of a cookie in there somewhere as well.

No exercise.

But it was Adam's birthday, so what can I say.

I'm trying to do better today. So far:

Breakfast:  bowl of cereal

Snack:  green tea

Not sure about lunch yet. Dinner will be Olive Garden leftovers…because leftovers are meals, too. Right, Steph?

:)

Weekend agenda

Friday night we had Thai food for dinner. Pretty healthy for the most part. Exercise consisted of walking around downtown for an hour or so.

Saturday for breakfast:  salted bagel and fruit smoothie

Lunch:  half a hamburger and fries

Dinner:  fish and rice

Exercise:  played kickball for about an hour and a half

Sunday breakfast:  fruit smoothie

Lunch:  whopper jr. and fries from burger king

Dinner:  most of an organic hamburger (that Adam grilled), fresh fruit, green beans

Exercise:  another hour of kickball

Overall, not a terrible weekend, although I probably could have done without the BK. Oh well. Another week, another fresh start.

Today so far:

Breakfast was a bagel and banana and green tea

I brought my lunch today (yay me) and had a turkey sandwich and yogurt.

Not sure what's on the menu for dinner. It's raining outside and I'm beyond sore from kickball and all I want to do is eat grilled cheese and tomato soup and curl up in my comfy chair tonight.

:)

Ups & downs

Friday, 4/13:
Breakfast: 2 bowls Kashi Heart to Heart cereal
Lunch: cheddar wurst & sweet tea
Dinner: chips & salsa, nachos, and 1/2 of a bean burrito thing (very big, stuffed with guacamole, beans, cheese & veggies).
Exercise: 40 min elliptical

Saturday, 4/14:

Lunch: pineapple & a bag of popcorn
Dinner: spaghetti with 4 cheese tomato sauce, salad and garlic bread

Sunday, 4/15:

Friday, April 13, 2007

My yesterday

Breakfast was a banana and iced green tea.

Lunch was a yummy gyro.

For dinner, we had sushi (but I didn't stuff myself), miso soup, and edamame.

No exercise because I suck. But this weekend we are starting kickball – that should kick us into gear a bit.

Have you guys tried Coke Zero? Adam got some last night and I must say, it tastes exactly like regular Coke. Quite tasty.

Thursday, April 12, 2007

The Rest of my day...

dinner: chicken salad with tomato, cheese, avocado & toast
Exercise: 30min of cardio (walk away the pounds 2mile video)

All Fixed Up...

Kimmie, the great magician fixed things up for me. Here is what I posted:

Lunch: salad and half of pb&j sandwich
Snack: 10 gummy life savers & a few bites of chocolate eclair ice cream & a couple pretzels

I'm not sure what I'm doing for dinner. I'm on my own, so that means it up in the air. Depends on if I feel like making anything or not. I'm planning on doing some form of exercise after work. I'll keep you guys posted.

Whoops...

Posted my day on Sapphire blog.
Go there to see what I've been up to yesterday & today.

Wednesday, April 11, 2007

My day

Dinner last night consisted of two small pieces of pizza and a salad. Oh, and cereal for dessert.

Today for breakfast:  salted bagel, cream cheese, and a banana, nonfat mocha

Lunch:  turkey and avocado croissant

Snack:  a few Fritos

No dinner plans yet. I'm on my own so it could end up being something completely ridiculous. But my new plan is to add a salad to all my meals.

Tuesday, 4/10:

Breakfast: Kashi Heart to Heart cereal
Lunch: salad and fritos
Snack: fritos
Dinner: Pasta with butter & seasoning
Exercise: 20 min elliptical & weights

Tuesday, April 10, 2007

Glug, glug

Last night for dinner:  three small pieces of pizza, carrots and cauliflower with ranch

No exercise

Today so far

Breakfast:  bowl of cereal and nonfat mocha

Snack:  green tea

Lunch:  6'' chicken sub from Subway

Ang, I tried your water drinking suggestion at lunch. I drank a bunch before I ate, none while I ate, and now I'm drinking some more and I'm not hungry at all. And right now is usually when I get really hungry in the afternoons. Amazing!

Also, there is leftover Easter candy on my desk that I am not even going near it. How cool is that?

Little happy dance.

Monday, Monday...

In spite of my best efforts, yesterday turned out to be not so great.

Breakfast: pineapple and strawberries, bowl of frosted cheerios
Lunch: Ham & cheese sandwich, carrots, fritos and a cupcake
Snack: A couple bites of a soft pretzel and some tortilla chips
Dinner: Spaghettios
No exercise for the day.

Today should be better. We went grocery shopping last night and stocked up on some healthy food and snacks.

Monday, April 9, 2007

Um...

So I pretty much forget what I had to eat on Friday. I know that Friday night Adam grilled out and we had burgers and tater tots and salad. The burger was good but the bun wasn't so I only ate half of mine anyway.

And I did about 30 minutes of cardio that night.

Then on Saturday…

Breakfast:  salted bagel w/ cream cheese & a mocha

Snack:  another salted bagel w/ cream cheese

Lunch/dinner:  one and a half tacos, chips and salsa, and a couple bites of rice

Exercise:  short walk, about 20 minutes of cardio

Then on Sunday…

Breakfast:  banana

Brunch:  Too much to list here. Let's just say it was a five-course meal that included pancakes, quiche and fruit. The fruit was my saving grace.

Oh, and there was a doughnut thrown in there somewhere as well. Eek.

Dinner:  bean burrito & a few nachos from Taco Bell (I've been craving this for a while, so the fact that I didn't end up eating the entire menu was an accomplishment)

Exercise:  about an hour of cardio / aerobics

And for today…

Breakfast:  bowl of cereal, banana, nonfat latte

Lunch:  taco salad

I've sort of been a bottomless pit lately. Not sure what that's about. I have been getting a little more exercise than usual, so maybe that has something to do with it. Now if I can just substitute those bad things with healthy things.

Also, I'm really trying to cut out soda. But when we go out to eat, it's all I want. Especially with Mexican food. How are you girls dealing with this?

Oh, and alcohol too? I had a mimosa on Sunday but I've been trying to curb that as well.

Ok, guess that's it for now.

Easter Weekend.

Thursday, 4/5:
Breakfast: bowl of frosted cheerios
Lunch: turkey sandwich & chips
Dinner: Margarita pizza (thin crust with tomato, basil & Mozzarella), I had 4 slices, but it's really like 2 normal slices cause they are so thin.
Exercise: 30 minutes on elliptical

Friday, 4/6:
Breakfast: samples at Costco
Lunch: El Rodeo - cheese enchilada & soft beef taco, and of course chips with salsa and some bean dip
Didn't really have dinner, but snacked on some stuff: iced caramel latte, 1/2 of a pb&j sandwich, popcorn, chips & bean dip, and a cupcake.
Exercise: 35 minutes on elliptical and arm weight circuit.

Saturday:
Breakfast: bowl of pops with toast, pineapple and 2 pieces of mush
Had a late breakfast so didn't really have lunch
Snack: iced caramel latte
Dinner: sweat & sour chicken with rice, and 4 Chinese dumplings
Snack: licorice
Exercise: 3 mile walk away the pounds

Sunday, 4/8: Happy Easter!
Breakfast: sausage gravy with biscuits
Lunch/dinner/snack: popcorn & licorice and 2 pretzel bites at the movies. 1.5 cupcakes at my parents house
Exercise: none

OK... so it would appear it was a free-for-all weekend. I really did not eat healthy at all. At least I kept up the exercise. I'm going to try and be focused this week. Today may be a little off, but we are going to the store today so the healthy food supply should be stocked up again.
How was your weekend?

Thursday, April 5, 2007

A few hiccups

Yesterday

Lunch:  Greek something sandwich (roasted chicken, olives, feta on focaccia bread)

Dinner:  hotdog and tater tots

Snack:  half an apple and cheese

Exercise:  short walk and 20 minutes cardio

Today

Breakfast:  apple, nonfat lemon bread thing from Starbucks, nonfat latte

Lunch:  tuna sub from Subway

The weather is bee-you-tee-ful today so hopefully that will motivate me to take a nice long walk tonight. Or at least frolic through the backyard with the dog. We shall see. Not sure what's on the menu for dinner. Adam went grocery shopping last night but I can't remember what he got. Hmm. We have organic produce by the fistfuls though!

Wednesday, 4/4:

Breakfast: 1/2 of an apple and frosted cheerios
Lunch: Taco salad
Dinner: Pot stickers, 1.5 scoops of vanilla ice cream with caramel
Snack: popcorn
Exercise: 30 min elliptical

OK... so I've been slacking a bit on this posting thing. I'll try to remember as best I can.

Thursday:
Breakfast: onion bagel with cream cheese and iced caramel latte
Lunch: 1 slice of pepperoni pizza
Dinner: blanking on this one. I think I had pizza again with some garlic bread.
Snack: popcorn
Exercise: 20min walk

Friday, 3/30:
Breakfast: bowl of cereal (frosted cheerios)
Lunch: Turkey and cheese sandwich on a everything bagel and wheat thins
Snack: chips and salsa
Dinner: KFC chicken and sides
Exercise: kick ball with my nieces for about a half hour

Saturday, 3/31:
Breakfast: various samples at Costco
Lunch: grilled cheese sandwich and chips
Snack: 1/2 of a big train
Dinner: chicken fried rice and chicken and veggie pot stickers
Exercise: none

Sunday, 4/1:
Breakfast: 1/2 of a multi-grain bagel with cream cheese and caramel iced latte
Lunch: Easter dinner at my moms - enough said.
Snack: Mexican layer dip with chips and guacamole
Exercise: hunting for eggs in the rain.

Monday 4/2:
Breakfast: Cinnamon coffee cake and caramel iced latte
Lunch: roast beef, salami and cheese sandwich (Schmitter at the Phillies game) and approx 5 bites of cookies-n-cream ice cream
Snack: soft pretzel with cheese
Dinner: small salad and 2 pickles
Exercise: 30min walk

Somehow I managed to maintain my weight. Still down 5 pounds. Yay! I'm trying to be pretty focused this week and hopefully push that to 6 or 7 pounds by the end of the week. My saving grace has been not eating as much.

Friday, March 30, 2007

Friday at last!

Dinner last night: two sushi rolls and miso soup, hot chocolate for dessert

Exercise:  Walked around the city for about an hour (I'm so loving springtime this year).

Breakfast today:  banana and bagel w/ cream cheese, nonfat caramel macchiato

Lunch today:  tuna wrap

Dinner will probably be something quick at the airport or on the way to. They really need to make more healthy fast food options. I can only eat so much Subway, after all.

I did hear that Burger King is moving toward selling only free-range chicken. That's a step in the right direction. Now if they could just introduce free-range, organic, calorie free French fries, I'd be set…

Have a good weekend, girls!

Friday so far...

Hey gals...

Breakfast - Bowl of Raisin Nut Bran
Snack - Hot Chocolate
Lunch - (Yeesh) Side salad, meatball and a few strands of spaghetti, small piece of scrumptuos lasagna, piece of bread. And a small piece of TRIPLE CHOCOLATE CAKE. Zios catered our staff lunch today. Yummy, but SO not good.
Dinner - Not a clue - I'll fill ya in on Monday.

Thursday, March 29, 2007

Wed – Thurs

Ok, my turn.

Last night for dinner:  rum and Coke, spinach & artichoke dip with rye bread and a couple sautéed mushrooms.

A little bit of walking around downtown and walking up big hills in my little heels. Not sure if it counts for exercise, but it got my heart rate up nonetheless.

Breakfast today:  few bites of banana bread, nonfat caramel macchiato.

Lunch:  grilled cheese and fresh fruit.

Not sure what the plan is for dinner. We shall see…

I just signed up for organic produce delivery every other week, so that will help us keep healthier foods on hand. Especially when it comes to snacks and breakfasts. It should start next week, so I will let you know how it goes!

The rest of my day...

Ok, so I ended up having two small wraps at home filled with one slice of turkey, a dabble of shredded cheese, lettuce and tomato. And ranch dressing. Then for dessert I had two fat free fig newtons and a 32oz Diet Coke. :-)

But now I am drinking water again. Lots of water. Tonight is leftover BBQ chicken and mashed potatoes. Not too bad. Probably corn with that.

My downfall will be that we are going to Cosmos for a few drinks later with Danie and another friend, so I will have to just limit myself to just one.

Ok. Bye.

Wow!

I must have checked this early yesterday and missed all of you posts. I guess I got so used to being the only one posting. (no offense).

Tuesday, March 27:
Breakfast: Apple
Lunch: hot ham and cheese sandwich and chips
Dinner: bean and cheese tortilla with chips and salsa
I think I had a snack in there somewhere, but I don't remember what it was.
No exercise, I was still recuperating from my cold. I was very tired all day. I know that shouldn't be an excuse, but it was good enough for me.

Wednesday, March 28:
Breakfast: Apple and 2 bowls of frosted cheerios
Lunch: hot ham & cheese sandwich (I'm really into these for some reason) and chips and salsa
Snack: Rita's Strawberry Italian Ice
Dinner: 2 pieces of pizza hut pizza and 3 bread sticks.
Snack: popcorn
Exercise: 20 min walk with my sister.

OK... so Wednesday was probably my worst day in a while. Way too much snacking and not enough fruits and veggies. Combined with the minimal and lack of exercise for the past couple of days - the results could be devastating. However, I have been holding steady at 4-5 pounds lost. This morning I was at 4. The plan is to get focused again and hopefully get over this phase where salads are repulsing me. Plus get back into exercising aggressively.

Anyway... that's my story for now.

What is...

..."The Devil Wears Prada?"

:-)

Today so far:
Breakfast - Bowl of Raisin Nut Bran and I think I'll end up with a cup of hot cocoa at work.
The rest of the day is unknown as I didn't bring a lunch and I think we're having leftovers for dinner.

Have a great day, girls.

Wednesday, March 28, 2007

Up and down

My day yesterday:

Dinner was full of horrible, bad, fatty things. We went out to this barbeque place and I had half a drumstick and one rib, as well as fries, baked beans, and potato salad. I got pretty full, but I don't think I stuffed myself.

We did take a little walk after, so that made us both feel better. I also did 30 minutes of aerobics last night. So maybe it all came out even?

My day so far today:

Breakfast:  bagel and cream cheese, nonfat latte

Lunch:  Greek sandwich…chicken, feta, tomatoes, and olives

Snack:  half a chocolate chip cookie

Not sure about the retaining water, Steph. Probably has to do with your time of the month and lovely girl hormones. I always notice it when I eat a lot of salt. Which is all the time, really, because I really love salt.

I think that overall we're doing great, girls. Everyone has ups and downs, but the fact that we're being conscious of what we're eating and how we exercise keeps it on the forefront of our minds. I do feel healthier overall since we started this, even though I may not have lost that much actual weight so far.

Speaking of weight…just for fun, name this movie:

"I'm just one stomach flu away from my goal weight."

TTFN

Wellllll....

So this past weekend was bad - my only excuse was that I was totally starting my period. Bad news.
I don't remember Friday, and Saturday was horrible:
Breakfast - donut and chocolate milk from QT
Dinner - Arby's beef and cheese and curly fries
Snack - about 4 tacquitos and some bread with cheese fondue

Sunday:
No breakfast
Lunch - I think I had a turkey and cheese sandwich with tortilla chips
Dinner - Sante Fe soup (kinda like chili only with ground turkey, corn, beans, Rotel and taco seasoning and onions. Topped with some fritos and cheese and a dollop of sour cream. It was yummy - can you tell I liked it?

Monday:
Breakfast - Hot cocoa, small whole wheat bagel with light cream cheese
Lunch - Two tortillas with a slice of turkey and a slice of cheese in each
Snack - Hot cocoa and tortilla chips
Dinner - Chicken breast marinated in Italian dressing, pasta salad, lettuce salad

Tuesday:
Breakfast - Hot cocoa
Lunch - Lean Cuisine pizza, seasame bagel, reduced fat cream cheese
Snack - Oatmeal raisin cookie
Dinner - BBQ chicken breast, mashed potatoes, chicken gravy and salad.
Snack - small bowl of Sundae Cone ice cream (believe me, it was worth it!)

Today:
Breakfast - Two slices of toast with honey, hot cocoa
Lunch - leftover from last night - chicken and potatoes, diet mountain dew!
Snack: ???
Dinner: Tacos (probably two)

Whew. I need to get better about doing this everyday, but I have days that are literally so busy, I just can't. Ah well. Good thing though, is that after the last two weeks of being not so good, I am only up 1 pound so my net loss is still just a pound. It could be worse, right? Well, I am feeling a lot better, but my water intake is back down - way down. I was actually retaining a lot of the water I was drinking, so any thoughts on that?

OK, this is too long. Love you both!

Guess that pretty much sums it up. :)

Monday, March 26, 2007

Catching up

Ok, so my weekend was kind of up and down. I got into Seattle on Saturday and hadn't eaten anything, so I went to Burger King where I had a whopper jr. meal. Bad, bad, bad.

Saturday night I had two pieces of margarita pizza and a couple pieces of dark chocolate.

Sunday brunch: two eggs, bacon, homefries and fruit

Sunday dinner: hamburger, green beans and fruit salad

Today so far:

Breakfast:  banana and nonfat caramel macchiato

Lunch:  taco salad

Trying to drink lots of water…My family commented that I looked like I had lost weight, which made me feel good, even though I don't think I look like I've lost any. Just gotta keep at it, I suppose.

Coming to you from Ohio

My computer issues this week have kept me from posting like I had wanted to. Oh, the horror of a slow Internet connection.

But I have to say I’ve been doing okay on the eating, and I’ve actually been taking walks every day that I’ve been here.

Sunday, 3/18:
Breakfast: strawberry yogurt and granola
Lunch: El Rodeo - 1 cheese enchilada and 1 soft beef taco, chips & salsa, a couple bites of ice cream for dessert

Yea... I had been craving cake all week and finally got one on Friday. Hopefully it will be gone soon, so that it will not tempt me anymore.
Exercise was non-existent this weekend. Like i said... not so good.

Last week

Sorry I have been missing in action. I have been working nonstop the last week or so, and there doesn't seem to be an end in site. We have a bunch of interviews for new work and I have been working on a lot of presentations. Thankfully, I don't actual have to PRESENT this stuff, but I still have put in a lot of hours preparing for it. I haven't been doing poorly in the food world, but this weekend was not good at all...we went out to eat Friday night and Saturday night, although Saturday night I had Mahi Mahi and rice with a yummy sauce from the Elephant Bar.

The exercising, though, is what gets me. I just haven't made the time to do it. I have been so tired when I get home and I am honestly feeling a little hopeless about this. Don't get me wrong - we've been doing better and being more active, but I haven't been able to get a work out in for a long time. Also, when I do have time, there are SO many other things that I have to do. We haven't touched our taxes yet and I have another batch of Thank You's that are waiting to go out. Anyway, it's a new day and I will keep on truckin' as best I can.

I'll hopefully be able to talk to you all soon! Love you!

Friday, March 16, 2007

Thursday 3/15:

Breakfast: pineapple, poppy seed muffin and Iced caramel latte
Lunch: Turkey sub and some pita chips
Dinner: Birds Eye potatoes in a rosemary sauce

Exercise: 45min elliptical

I am an equal opportunity fast food eater. The thing is, I don't like Wendy's fries, but their chicken nuggets are far better than McDonald's. The nice thing is, we have a Wendy's and a McDonald's within 500 feet of each other at a strip center about 5 minutes from my house. Well, maybe that's not so good for me, but it is nice when I'm having that fast food craving.

Also, a Starbucks just opened in that same shopping center. This could be very detrimental to me. I've actually thought about getting a job there. Hmm... maybe not.

What happened to you, Steph? Haven't heard from you in awhile.
write soon...

A couple more days

What I love is the McDonald's French fries combined with the Wendy's chicken nuggets. You're an equal opportunity fast-food eater, Ang.

So I think I need to go back a couple days…let's see…

Wednesday dinner:  three crab cakes (which Adam made at home and surprisingly only had 200 calories total) and some grapes.

A few days

Ok, um, I'm going to just quickly gloss over the weekend by saying I didn't eat well but I didn't eat horribly either. Exercise was mainly just walking around downtown.

Lunch:  Gyro and salad

Dinner:  Half of a chicken breast stuffed with tomatoes and feta, and asparagus as a side

Snack:  Handful of chips and a bit of a dark chocolate bar

Exercise:  30 minutes cardio, 30 minutes elliptical (and I am SORE today…)

My day today so far:

Breakfast:  whole wheat bagel with a liiiiitle cream cheese and an Americano

Lunch:  Sweet onion teriyaki chicken sub from Subway

Not sure what's for dinner tonight…Hopefully, the chef has something yummy in mind.

Pounds lots!

I have lost 2 lbs! Add it to our total! :-)

Friday, March 9, 2007

Whoops!

I meant 8 lbs :)

Off to the Weekend!

Last night, Thursday 3/8:
Dinner: bowl of frosted mini wheats
Exercise: Walk away the pounds - 3 mile (approx. 45 minutes)

Today, Friday 3/9:
Breakfast: Apple
Brunch: 16oz iced caramel latte, multi-grain bagel with cream cheese. I'm afraid I've become quite attached to this particular treat from Dunkin Donuts.
Late Lunch snack: granola bar
Dinner: tba...

I'm headed to the gym... or at least I hope I am. I plan to do 30 minutes on elliptical and then head home.

Yay for us loosing 4 lbs! Who else has lost?
And Yay for foreign visitors. We like people!

Finally Friday

So last night…

I had grilled cheese and French fries for dinner. And no exercise, unless you count moving from the couch to the loveseat exercise.

Today…

Breakfast: nonfat caramel macchiato and a bowl of cereal
Snack: slice of banana bread

I’m trying to drink a bunch of water, but I’m afraid my frequent bathroom breaks are making my coworkers suspicious.

Oh, and by the way, we had a visitor from China and one from Portugal to our blog yesterday. Hello, visitors from far-off lands!

One more thing

Oh yeah, does anyone have anything to add to the pounds lost section? I'm getting tired of looking at a blank there.

Ditto

So my dinner last night consisted of three mini-burgers and a martini. Oh, and a rum and Coke. Oops.

Exercise:  30 minutes of cardio

Today

Breakfast:  Tall non-fat caramel macchiato and a package of instant oatmeal

Lunch:  Lean Cuisine chicken pizza

Dinner will probably be chicken wings ala Adam. I will try to balance them with some salad or other healthy diversion.

So how cool would it be if our blog got to be popular? I could handle the extra income – how bout you girls?

I'll have to add my Google Analytics code to the site just to see who's reading it. I'm kind of curious now.

A little of both...

OK, there has been some good and some bad this week.

Tuesday 3/6:
I broke down and went to El Rodeo for dinner, but I didn't eat as much as I usually do. I had 1 cheese enchilada and 1 soft beef taco. I also had way too many chips and salsa, but I didn't feel overly stuffed when we left.

Wednesday 3/7:
I did the Lemon cleanse all day - same as Monday.
No exercise.

Today - Thursday 3/8:
Breakfast: multi-grain bagel with cream cheese and a Med Iced Caramel Latte.
Lunch: will be chicken nuggets and mac & cheese.
Dinner: hopefully something healthy - I'll get back to you on that.
Also, I'm going to try and get some exercise in sometime today. I'm thinking walk away the pounds at my mom's house.

Oh and news on another front. Apparently we aren't the only ones doing this. I heard on Oprah that there is a website that was started by 3 girls and now has thousands of people blogging their daily intake of food. How funny is that! I'm going to check out the site when I get a chance. I think Oprah has a link on her website.

*sigh*

So last night I blew it. Big. I had a cheeseburger and onion rings and root beer from Webers. It just got so late and we were out running errands and we was hungry. I should have sucked it up and made something small at home. But last night I talked to Shawn and told him that I could not do this if he didn't do it with me. I can't do it if he is eating whatever he wants and I can't. He's behind me 100%. The thing is that he thinks it doesn't matter what you eat so much as how much you exercise, and I think it's a lot about what we eat. But really it's a balance of both. So, I guess I will just keep plugging away.

Today for breakfast: Banana, vanilla yogurt, granola. Water
I forgot my lunch today, and I have heels on so I don't think I am going to trek home. I don't know what I'll do. But my lunch meeting was cancelled so maybe I can convince Jennifer to go out to Subway. Hmmm.

I am glad to hear that you guys are doing well - especially with the exercise part. I have to admit that is my downfall. I think I may have to start taking an energy pill. :-(

Quick blurb

Quickly before I head out for happy hour…

Last night's dinner:  three small pieces of a personal pizza from CPK

Exercise:  30 minutes of aerobics

Today for breakfast:  Tall mocha and a cherry/almond scone

Lunch:  Two pieces of pizza (again with the pizza!)

Dinner will hopefully be something a little more on the healthy side. And it's getting sunny out, so that means a later evening walk may be in store.

Later, dudes.

Oh, yeah, and today...

I have had a small portion of vanilla yogurt and a banana. And I broke down and had a hot chocolate when I got here this morning - it's 110 calories in a packet. Gr.

I can hopefully recover the rest of the day. I am planning on walking home with my friend Jen at lunch and I will find something not so bad for lunch there.

For dinner, I am not sure what we're having but it will probably involve stir fry veggies.

Today...

So, yesterday was not bad, except for I didn't exercise. But, this was my day in food:

Breakfast - two pieces of toast with PB & J
Snack - Banana
Lunch - Healthy Choice Meal - stuffed manicotti, broccoli and an apple dessert (total 380 calories)
Dinner - Leftover Johnny Carino's Bowtie pasta with chicken and other stuff.

Oh, and a rep brought in M&M cookies. And I had one. :-)

That's it. I have decide however, that I need to be EXTREMELY strict with myself for the first few weeks. I think that will help kick start the losing weight thing because so far I haven't lost even a pound. It's very depressing. SO now that we have some money in the bank account again, I am going to head to the grocery store and get mainly fruits and veggies and chicken breats. I really think I need to concentrate on that and not on eating carbs so much.

Please pray that I will be able to stick with this - I am so unhappy with the way I look and feel right now!

Thanks ladies! Xoxoxo!

So far...

Yay for us being all motivated with our posting and stuff. Whoo hoo!

So let’s see…

Yesterday lunch: Taco salad
Dinner: Sloppy joe meat (no bun) and a few fries (Ok, ok, more than a few fries. But I must say, too, that overall I have also been drastically cutting down my portions.)

Yesterday exercise: 40 minutes on the elliptical

Today breakfast: Bowl of cereal and Starbucks non-fat caramel macchiato (only 150 calories!)

Haven’t made it to lunch yet. Dinner will be out tonight, but it will be during happy hour when portions are small.

I thought about weighing myself last night, but didn’t want to find out something discouraging since I feel like I’m doing pretty well overall, compared to what I was doing before. Maybe I’ll step on the scales this weekend, and see what there is to see. Gulp.

Let us know how the lemon cleanse works out for you, Ang.
I miss you girls, too!

Lemon Clense

Yesterday and today I'm doing a lemon cleanse. It's not fun, but it does clean things out.

Monday & Tuesday 3/5-6:
Drink 2-3 qt of lemon drink through out the day
Breakfast: Lemon drink (fresh squeezed lemon, maple syrup, water & dash of red pepper)
Lunch: An apple
Dinner: Salad & baked potato (Monday, I had two baked potatoes cause I was still hungry)

Monday Exercise: 30 minutes on elliptical, weight circuit for arms
Tuesday Exercise: 30 minutes on elliptical, stretching

I'm suppose to do the cleanse for 3 days, but I'm not sure if I'm going to do it tomorrow or not.

Yes, Long weekend

So, I don't think I did horribly, but I definitely didn't do "Well." Friday night we made Tuna Helper at home, but then I had a few handfuls of popcorn (yay me!) and regular soda at the movie. Oh, and sour patch kids.

Saturday, I made an egg sandwich (cheese, egg and toast) for breakfast, and then we ate Italian for dinner at Johnny Carino's. But in my defense I ate VERY small portions of everything we got. Except for the bread, which is in fact THE most evil thing in the WORLD.

So Sunday, I had a banana and vanilla yogurt with some granola for breakfast. At McAlesters after church I had a turkey sandwich on wheat and some tortilla soup. Then we walked 5 miles and played 18 holes of disk golf. Whew. Then we had mac and cheese and chicken nuggets for dinner. Isn't that weird, Ang, that we ate the same thing AGAIN for dinner?!?

So that was my weekend. Today so far:
Breakfast: Animal crackers and hot chocolate
Lunch: Chef Boyardee Ravioli and lemonade
Snack: Banana and yogurt
Dinner: ??? Maybe Spaghetti?

I really hope you girls are doing well. I miss you terribly.
We all really have to chat soon. Maybe tonight or tomorrow?

Long Weekend

I didn't get a chance to post on Friday, so I'll do my best to remember my days:

Thursday night I ended up not having the rest of my sub cause I left it at work. I didn't do too bad though - butter noodles and broccoli.

Friday, 3/2:
Breakfast: blueberry muffin
Lunch: cheddar wurst, soft pretzel and sweetened iced tea
Dinner: Italian sub at Issac's Restaurant
Snack: Iced caramel latte

Exercise: Walking around downtown - approx 1 to 1.5 miles over all.

Saturday 3/3:
Got up late - didn't have breakfast
Lunch: club sandwich & french fries
Dinner: 1/2 of Turkey sub
Snack: white chocolate mocha and Aaron and I shared a piece of chocolate cake with cherry icing.

Exercise: Cleaning the house. Not sure if this counts, but i definitely worked up a sweat.

Sunday 3/4:
Breakfast: Asiago cheese bagel with plain cream cheese (Panera) and Iced caramel latte
Lunch: Taco salad & garlic bread, small sliver piece of ice cream heath bar crunch pie
Dinner: mac & cheese and chicken nuggets

Exercise: 40 minutes on elliptical

3/5 -2 lbs

Splurging in San Fran

So the things I ate this weekend weren’t especially healthy (Cheesecake Factory! Sushi! Lots of other things I don’t remember!) but I didn’t really stuff myself. Plus, we walked at least three to four miles throughout the weekend, which left me sore and whining. But all those hills helped burn off some calories, I’m sure.

Last night, we found a Panera near the airport and I very nearly bought a couple dozen bagels to bring home (we don’t have Panera in Seattle). But I didn’t, and I only ate half my sandwich and didn’t have any chips.

But so far today I have had a grande latte and a butter croissant from Starbucks. I checked online and their butter croissants only have 100 calories, compared to the other pastries with 300 or 400. And I am only doing the latte thing once a week now – the other days, I just have drip coffees. (I can’t cut the caffeine cold turkey, but I am working on it…sort of…)
I really need to get better at bringing food and snacks along with me to work. But today I was just focusing on getting myself here, which was quite an accomplishment.

So how were your all’s weekends?

March 2, 2007

Ok so I finished off yesterday not bad but definitely not great. For lunch I ended up walking home (3 blks each way). I had a turkey sandwich with cheese, some canned pears, a handful of Doritos and a small bowl of ice cream. Then for dinner it went down hill. We ate at Charlie's Chicken - 3 chicken chunks and mashed potatoes and gravy with a bite or two of corn.

Today, however, I have been doing significantly better. I had two pieces of bread with peanut butter for breakfast with a glass of milk. (didn't have time to toast them!) And for lunch I had 7 chicken nuggets (at home - not fast food) and a whole tomato cut up with salt and pepper. The bad part today, however, is that my team at work did such a great job on proposing one of our projects that the Director got us cheesecake. Turtle Cheesecake. Dangit. But I just had one small piece.

So, as long as I don't blow dinner tonight, its not horrible. OH, and we got a new scale so I know where my starting point is. Although, when i first got on, I thought it was broken - I weighed a few pounds more than I thought. Grr. Oh well. PROGRESS is one step at a time.

We're planning on going for a nice long walk and possibly disk golf after work. :-)

Have a good day girls! AND I am going to look for that book, Ang.
