Horrible

Ok, so the weekend was terrible. I'm not going to re-hash all of the terrible things I put into my mouth over the weekend. My only saving grace - went to the gym on Saturday.
BUT, Monday was better...
FTR, Monday 1/29:
Breakfast: An apple
Lunch: A salad and a couple pieces of chicken (left over Chinese)
Snack: Fun size pack of MnMs
Dinner: Burger King - crispy chicken sandwich, french fries and sprite.
Dinner wasn't good, but i didn't snack at all after dinner. That's an accomplishment!

Chocolate will be my downfall

I worked out last night for thirty minutes! Yay. Then I ate two chocolate covered strawberries. Not yay.
Also had pizza for dinner. But lunch was fairly healthy – just a half turkey sandwich.
So I guess that’s some improvement.

So far today, I’ve just had a banana. And I brought a Lean Cuisine meal for lunch. Dinner will be a challenge – we’ll probably go out, but maybe I can find a good salad.

I think it’s just going to take a little while before we see results. Especially since we’re not doing anything too dramatic. It’s like that commercial – guys can cut out soda and drop like ten pounds just from that. But girls are made differently – we have to work a little harder.

I know for me the thing that really makes me lose the weight is decreasing portion size. I’m trying to cut in half what I normally would eat. I’m still full after, but I feel a whole lot better. I haven’t weighed myself recently, but I don’t think I’ve lost anything yet either. Stepping up the exercise would probably really help, too.

I’m also taking a supplement – 5-HTP – and it seems to be helping. It’s an appetite suppressant, as well as a sleep aid and mood booster.

Anyway, hope everyone has a good weekend!
Not sure why the last post was posted 3 times... o well.

It's in the past...

Thursday, January 25th:
Breakfast: A bowl of frosted cheerios
Lunch: 6" Subway Turkey sub, slice of pizza and one bread stick
Dinner: 6" Subway Turkey sub
Snacked on a couple of pieces of candy though out the day, but did not give into the urge to have popcorn while watching Greys.
So... I weighed myself this morning and I haven't been making progress. To be honest, I've gone in the wrong direction since Monday. Any thoughts or incites as to why would be appreciated (such as, looking at the food intake - is that the cause. Or do i just need to exercise more. My take is that its a little bit of both).

Wednesday, Jan 24th

Breakfast: An Apple and 2 cinnamon rolls (left over from night before & I shared)
Lunch: Salad & some chips
Dinner: 2 pieces of pizza hut pizza and 2 1/2 bread sticks.
Guess that's it. Any ideas to boost self-control?

So out of shape

So I worked out on my new elliptical machine last night, and it totally kicked my butt. Wow. But I feel pretty good today, although my back's a little sore. So the arm things might need some adjustment.

My goal is to do 30 minutes a day. As I get stronger, I'll increase it and add in some other exercises as well.

Let's see, what did I eat…

No breakfast, except my coffee.

For lunch I had a tuna pita – just tuna and lettuce and cheese. Pretty good.

Dinner was a little worse – six chicken wings and ranch dressing.

Oh, and a sundae for dessert. Oops.

More Baby Steps

Tuesday wasn't so bad for me. At least the day wasn't, but the evening could have been better.
FTR - Tuesday 1/23:
Breakfast: An apple & a bowl of frosted cheerios (could have done without the cheerios)
Lunch: Turkey sub - no cheese, oil i/o mayo, and veggies - and chips
Afternoon snack: 4 pieces of hard candy
Dinner: chicken and veggie pot stickers, side of veggies
After dinner snack: pistaccios & I had a moment of weakness and made some cinnamon rolls and then had 2 of them. AHHH!
However, I did make it to the gym and spent 40 minutes on the elliptical. YAY!

Not so great...

So, this weekend SUCKED for me. I had eggs and pancakes for breakfast on Saturday, Sonic for dinner and LOTS of alcohol and fries at the bowling alley - at about 11 PM.

Then for my "hang-over-Sunday" - Eggs and toast, spaghetti with homemade marinara sauce, a small piece of chicken, bread and dipping oil. And pop. I usually drink diet, but there wasn't any available, so instead of water (the logical choice) i had sugar pop.

I got exercise that day by playing the Nintendo Wii at Frank and Kori's - and Saturday was bowling and shopping at Home Depot.

So, the weekend was bad, as was Monday (I was at work ALL day and the lettuce I brought for a salad was bad so I had to order something in). I didn't get home to eat dinner until about 8pm (I worked until 7) so mac and cheese and chicken nuggets were my dinner.

Today is better. Not great by any stretch of the imagination, but better. I had a breakfast sandwich from QT (bad), but a homemade turkey sandwich and grapes for lunch. With 100 calorie pack of ruffles. :-) So as long as dinner is pretty light, I should be ok. And I can't snack any more.

We're going to a hockey game after work, so I don't have much time to exercise today.

Not to sound vulgar - really - but does sex count?

A so-so Monday

Monday was a very busy day for me, and when things get busy, I tend to eat bad things.

For breakfast, I had a bagel and cream cheese.

For lunch, a turkey sub from Subway.

For dinner, curly fries and roast beef sandwich from Arby's. And pop.

But, I did take a walk in the evening, and I helped Adam put together my new elliptical machine. I should get some points just for having an elliptical machine. Of course, if I used it, that would be even better.

Today's goals:  eat smaller portions, and exercise for thirty minutes after work.

O yea...

I got some cute exercise clothes at Target & Victoria Secret. Also, may want to check out pennies or even Old Navy.

Baby Steps

Monday was definitely better than the weekend, but still I need help. The fact that I have to blog it does help me not eat as much.
FTR (for the record) - Monday 1/22:
Breakfast: 2 clementines
Lunch: Turkey sandwich with tomato, avocado & onion, light mayo. a handful of chips & a handful of wheat thins. Two pieces of candy.
Dinner: KFC chicken, mac & cheese, green beans and 2 fun size packets of mnms.
Not too bad, but not great either. Baby steps....

Weekend weakness

So Friday night was my bad night. I went to an after-work party where I had some drinks and pizza. Then had a late dinner (at this really, really awesome restaurant that I'm totally in love with) and had baked brie, steak, AND dessert, along with much too much wine.

Oh, but it was so good.

Saturday we went out for breakfast. 'Nough said there. But no lunch on Saturday because of the breakfast. Then we had steak yet again, potatoes, and cabbage.

Sunday, out for breakfast again where I had breakfast pizza. No lunch. Leftover breakfast pizza for dinner.

Ok, so did I eat anything healthy at all during the weekend? That would be a no. Well, except for maybe the cabbage. Yay me.

But I did wake up on Sunday extremely sore from all the walking we did on Saturday. I felt healthier, even if I'm not actually healthier yet. But they're moves in the right direction, I suppose.

Any tips on where to buy some cute exercise clothes? Maybe new workout clothes will equal more working out. It's worth a shot.

O Well - Today's a new day!

So yea... not a great weekend for self control, but I'm starting fresh today. I weighed myself and this is it. This is the beginning of the rest of my life as a healthy person and not someone who has to eat just cause I'm bored.
Just to keep with the program - Here is the weekend binge fest:
Saturday 1/20:
Nothing for breakfast (off to a good start i suppose)
Lunch: chips & salsa (way too many) & guacamole, cheese enchilada, and soft beef taco.
Dinner: I wasn't really hungry, but I ate anyway. 1/2 chicken cheese steak, 1/2 piece of pizza, 1 chicken strip, handful of chips, small bowl of pasta salad, 1/2 whoopie pie, apple crumb cake. I think that is it? Way too much for not being hungry.
Sunday 1/21:
Breakfast: Med caramel latte, cinnamon coffee cake muffin
Lunch: Beef roast, mashed potatoes, gourmet potatoes, veggie medley, broccoli salad, roll, and graham cracker/ice cream/marshmallow desert.
Dinner/snack: popcorn (shared small with mom), approx. 10 pretzel bits.
So... there it is. not pretty.

Friday, January 19, 2007

Finally figured it out

OK... so today has been an ok day so far:
Breakfast: 2 clementines
Lunch: Chedderwurst (a bratwurst with cheese inside) and a soft pretzel.
I'm not sure what we are doing for dinner yet, but I'll keep you posted.

Ah, geez.

This is great!
Today I had a bowl of cheerios for breakfast.
I had a serving of graham crackers as a snack.
We're having P.F. Changs for lunch...that won't be so good, but it's a work meeting, so...
And we have to go to a banquet tonight for dinner, but I don't know what they are going to have.
I have an orange for a snack though, if I need it!
More later! :-)
Love you girls!
