So I didn't do too well this weekend. I must have still been in vacation mode cause I just ate anything I wanted. I didn't really gain any weight though, so I suppose that's good. We did go to the store last night and our basket was similar to Steph's - 75% was veggies and fruit. I actually commented about it to Aaron. How funny is that? Anyway, I'm not going to rehash the weekend, but I'm doing better today.
Today so far...
Breakfast: Strawberries
Lunch: Salad with grilled chicken and french fries (the fries were on the salad, I guess that doesn't really make a difference, I still had them)
Snack: PB mnm's - I couldn't resist. Hopefully it won't give you the craving Steph.
I'm not sure what I'm doing for dinner yet. Maybe left over beef roast from the weekend.
I'm going to start a lemon cleanse tomorrow, which will last for 3 days. It's the same cleanse that I've done before and it usually does well to clean everything out of my system. It should be good to jump start the healthy thing again. I'm also going to try and work in some exercise this week. Hopefully Aaron and I will start the running thing this week. I gotta get some shoes.
I'm glad you enjoyed the guac. I was going to make it this weekend as well, but I couldn't find good avocados. They must not be in season anymore.
Guess that's it... for now.

Update
So this might be a little bit opposite of the purpose of the blog, but I wanted to share that I have gained one pound since the start of the pregnancy. I am so happy about this as I was certain I would at least double in size in the first few months.
But I have been really trying to be conscious about eating only when I'm actually hungry, and balancing out the not so good foods with healthier add-ins, like lots of fruit and veggies. It also helps that so many yummy things are in season right now.
We did a similar thing yesterday that Steph did and loaded up with lots of fruit and veggies from a farmer's market. So I made a fruit salad and we had green beans for dinner last night. And tonight we're probably having the corn on the cob and we've all been snacking on fruit here and there.
So that's the good news. The bad news is that try as I might to fight it, Taco Bell is the one thing that keeps calling me back to its cheesy goodness. For some reason, it just tastes so good. Darn baby. But like I said, I'm trying not to overeat and we're really working on the exercise as much as possible. So hopefully I'll keep the weight gain down to a minimum. Though I must say it is certainly a strange feeling to be happy that my clothes are no longer fitting. Apart from the fact that I get to buy new clothes, it makes all of this feel so much more real.
So good luck girls, and keep the updates coming! Love you!

Monday, Monday...
Hey ladeis!
The weekend was really good. Shawn and I have both started logging EVERYTHING we eat onto that new website and it's really been helping us keep track of calories, fat, carbs, cholesterol and sodium. It's very helpful. I actually lost 2 lbs from Thursday, which is still up 2lbs from my lowest, but I feel really good about it. We went grocery shopping and 75% of our basket was fruits and veggies and chicken. Nothing processed. We also went to Fadler's - a bulk market - and got a TON of deli sliced turkey for 1.99 per lb. If you guys buy deli turkey at all, you'll know that the cheapest you can find it is stores is typically 2.75 per lb. We have turkey sandwiches almost everyday for lunch, so this will be great to have in the freezer.
Also, I got a whole pineapple and cut it up into pieces for snacks - it is SO yummy. And, Ang, I made your guac, too. I LOVED it, but I put too much cilantro in it, so that was a little overwhelming. We ate it all, though! :-)
Love you girls - hope to hear from you soon!!!

Back to real life...
So, I didn't think I did too bad on vacation, but the scales said otherwise. I was up 5 lbs from my lowest. It's amazing what a week can do. Honestly, i think it was my last two days in Portland that did me in. Regardless, I'm back on track today...
So far today...
Breakfast: piece of toast, iced latte and a handful of frosted cheerios (all that was left in the box)
Lunch: subway turkey sub
Not sure what we are doing for dinner, but it will probably be something out cause we have nothing at home, unless we go grocery shopping. I hoping to also get some good exercise in. Aaron and I are going to start the running sometime over the weekend. I'm hoping to really get into that. We'll see how it affects my back.
Anyway... vacation was great, but now it is back to the real world. I'm hoping to drop back down to my lowest by Monday or sooner. I'll have to go to the store and stock up on the fruits and veggies again.
Steph... you don't look horrible. I think you are sooo beautiful. I must say I'm quite envious of Kim, cause she gets to eat without always being conscious of gaining weight.
Anyway... keep me posted on your progress.

Wow, so I must say that looking at the pictures that everyone took in Seattle makes me think of 3 things:
1) How much fun we had!
2) How much I miss everyone :-(
3) How terrible I look, and how much weight I have gained.
Talk about some motivation. Makes me want to starve myself.
So, before I saw Ang's pics, I had two pieces of toast with PB and I just had a small donut. We're supposed to have pizza for lunch today at the meeting, but I'll probably pass on that. We got some fresh veggies from the farmer's market last night, so I'm sure we'll make something with that for dinner.
Love you guys.

Back from Vacation
So I guess we didn't do too badly while we were gone. The day I travelled home was crap, though. BK sandwich for breakfast (no hashbrowns, just the sandwich), McDonald's for lunch, and chinese for dinner. Like I said. Horrible.
Yesterday -
Breakfast: 2 cups hot cocoa
Lunch: Turkey and cheese sandwich with a pickle and fruit snacks
Dinner: Homemade mac & cheese - very little cheese. Actually, wasn't very good.
Today-
Breakfast: Maple and Brown sugar oatmeal
Snack: peanut butter and crackers
Lunch: Philly Roll (sushi) and a chocolate chip cookie
Don't know what's for dinner. As of right now, nothing. I'm still very stuffed from lunch. Shawn is fasting today, so I don't think I'll have to make anything for him, which makes life easier. :-)
Ang, I hope you guys had a good time in Portland and a great trip home!
Kimmie! Thanks for everything while we were out there - so much fun!
I miss you both!!!
